Thanks for answering. Actually, I already tried that, that was what I assumed it was. It's something that goes beyond being just one of the devices. Plus, I don't think adjusting the release time would explain why I play sounding eternally during the actual recording, and during playback, all the notes get chopped off as soon as I hit them for a second time. As in, I have a solid line of midi on, and then when I hit the same note again, all of that disappears and it's just a blip where I first hit the note. Could it be something with aftertouch settings on the keyboard? I'm not sure how aftertouch works, I've tried recording with it on and off, but there are different options with it on. Thanks again. You need to isolate the problem and the best way to do that is trying a different keyboard and see what happens. Maybe you could borrow one from a friend. I don't think that Reason is the problem. I think that it's probably related to your keyboard. Maybe you can contact the keyboard's manufacture, or do a google on your problem. Joe |

Hey, I called the manufacturer and Roland had very little to help me with, I don't think the people that work there work with particularly many computer programs. However, when I was talking about my problem with him, I got a program called MIDI-OX, which helped out. MIDI-OX allows you to punch in different keys and you can see exactly what information your keyboard is outputting. So, I got that and I can see that my keyboard is sending MIDI on and MIDI off signals, which is what it should be doing. However, when I used Reason initially and it auto detected my PCR-500, it automatically assigned it to a PCR-50 and displayed "PCR1 control surface." So, I reset it to the generic Edirol control surface and everything works fine now. Thank you for trying to help, Joe, I appreciate it. Hope this message finds whoever else might have the same problem.

I have the same problem now and then. I use an M-Audio Oxygen 49 which i think is the culprit. The pitch wheel also sends out midi data now and then without me touching the wheel. Will be out shopping for something else soon!
