I have a yamaha dgx500 protable grand for my midi keyboard controller (presonous firepod for midi drive). I have midi songs saved on the dgx and I want to transfer the midi notes (each individual track obviously) to the reason instruments and remake the whole song in reason 4.

My question : In fruityloops I could push the start/stop button on my dgx500 to play the song and that would similutaneously start midi recording on fruityloops thus making the timing perfect for transfering midi. I assume there is a way to set this feature in reason, anyone know?

I know that you can Import midi files, from the File tab, so you'd have to browse to the directory on your DGX where the files are saved, through the USB cable I'm assuming your using? Let me know how that works.

No, Im using a standard midi cable into my firepod's midi driver , the firepod uses firewire into my comp. I cant access the file froms my dgx like that.
Those tuturials didnt really help, thanks though. I guess ill just use another program that has this feature and import the files into reason. No big deal, I just think reason would have this simple feature, i dunno.
