I am a begginner at reason and Im getting into MIDI control......I Have a No- name keyboard but it has midi out. I have it working in reason but the only problem is when I play certain sounds like PADS and STRINGS the note freeeezes.....I will just continually play that note even though I have just pressed the key once. If you're using windos maybe try using asio drivers.

Ok i downloaded ASIO4ALL and installed it.....But when i choose it as my audio card driver in reason I get NO sound from my keyboard anymore....My MIDI cable is recognising the key presses and so is reason but no sound comes out.....soon as i change it back to my default drivers the sound is back but the same problem as above occurs.....I wouldnt be suprises if it was lack of POWER in my equiptment or that its not capable of processing this....I currently run on P3 1.5ghz processor,712mb sd ram....and not sure the make of soundcard but I believe it is all in one motherboard/soundcard hunk of junk... and a NO name keyboard that cost $100 but has midi OUT feature....And a UNO Mini USB to MIDI cable connecting the two. Well any help is appreciated.....Thank You

I think I may know the solution.

You have to make sure no other program is using your sound card before you start reason up and switch to asio. So try closing all programs then starting up reason and switching to the asio driver. If that doesnt work go the asio control panel and see if your soundcard is disabled.

Well one other possibility is that your midi controller or interface is buggin out. Maybe try reinstalling your drivers for it? People have reported this problem before but I've never really encountered it so it's difficult to tell what's actually causing it.

EDIT: if you have any other music production software you can try to record midi in that program and see if you encounter the same problem.

Ok I dont have drivers for the keyboard just the MIDI controller....May that be the problem and if it is, is there a generic driver for this cause I have no idea the make of this keyboard.

If you're using some midi to usb cable then no you dont really need the drivers for you keyboard, just the cable itself.
