| My sound card has an audio in, so what I want to do is record/mix an instrument directly into a track in Reason. When I plug stuff (i.e. a keyboard) into the audio in, I can hear it through my computer speakers... I just don't know how to interface it with Reason. Would love to add some guitar!! Thank you!!! |

I Could Be Wrong But I Dont Think You Can Iterface With Reason Using That Set Up You Might Have To Use Some Third Party Software, Link Up Reason To That Third Party Software That Will Allow You To Record Audio-in Insturments. For Example, I Was In A Metal Band Doing Some Backround Noise Stuff AND Was Using Protools To Record The Band And I Could Link Up Reason To Protools And Record My Reason Stuff In Real Time With The Band. Or You Could Try Recording The Sperate Guitar Track Using Some Additional Software, Useing A Click Track If You Cant Use Both Pieces Of Software A The Same Time, And Save The File As A Wave And Use It In Redrum As A Sample But You Loss Some Control Over It If You Do It This Way Bt Then Again I Could Be Completely Wrong If Ya Find A Way Let Me Know Last edited by CONUNDRUM; December 24th, 2006 at 03:42. |

It' s not possible to record audio straight away to reason. If you don' t like to use third party software I advacie u to record yours instrument to wav file format into computer by using any audio software (for example adobe audition) and then open it as a sample in NN-XT. That' s what I used to do when my computer wasn' t enough powerful to run few programs at the same time. Now I use cubase and reason linked together.

Man, as someone else has said, reason can't record sound directly. I know some app's for that purposes like Motu Digital Performer, Protools, Cubase, etc. Those ones works perfectly if you're lookin' for some studio advantages. In case that you want a cheaper way and keep the best quality as possible, you most try Ableton Live. I use it across a M-audio's "fire wire solo" interface —an external sound "card" to record. From this software you control reason via rewire: you assign reason to an audio channel —or track— and, in other audio tracks you record as many as guitar takes you computer disk speed can handle. Ableton live: the easiest way i have tried about amateur/pro recording matters. www.m-audio.com www.ableton.com …and there's more reasons for what you will love this mad partnership: reason+live. check it! then, i hope you can understand my mexican english darboscalante |
