In trying to audition the Reason 4.0 patches in Patchload -- none of the patches play. When I look at the browser window, the Autoplay is checked, but is grayed out. And the status at the bottom of the window says loading, but it never loads. They are all 1kb in size, so I doubt it is size. When scrolling through the patches using the Subtractor Patch window, it appears that they are loading because the settings change, but no sound. I open another project that has sound and it plays without problem. I looked at the back of the rack and it appears that the Audio Out of the Subtracetor is connected to Track 4 In on the Mixer. And the Mixer's Main Outs are going to 1 and 2 of the Audio Interface. Any ideas?

you can't autoplay patches like you can with samples, what you can do is wait until they load and then press a note on your keyboard.

Thanks Titancow. I'll give that a try. In the browse window -- the status says loading. Does it ever indicate "loaded" or "complete"?

Still, no sound. Hitting the keys on my controller (M-Audio Axiom 61) didn't produce any sound.

I got the same issue with audition - autoplay.

Since first installation I've never seen it working.

Of course I can test the sound with keyboard, but none one single sample was loaded in audition.

it's grayed out....

I'm not talking about patches... that I know should not working...
but about samples....

can you give me a step by step troubleshooting?

What instrument are you trying to audition?

For example: drp-files are whole redrum patches, and as you know only samples can be autoplayed. It's simpy impossible to autoplay a redrum patch, because a patch consists of 10 drum sounds and their settings, so what should be played then?

The audition only works for .wav samples and .rex loops. Thor, Subtractor, Combi, patches need the instruments within reason to play them (including settings) - the patch selection window doesn't "know" how to play them.

I always load a patch from the instrument it was designed to be played in, this way I can audition the patch from within the instrument, as it loads all the settings etc.

Let us know what it is you're trying to do and we can let you know if your supposed to be able to do it, or if it's some sort of error

Well.... it's just not working....

let's make example,
I create Thor , I open Thor patches, and I don't have any audition preview.
I create an NN-19, I go to sample list to open one of them, for example Solina.smp, and I don't have any audition.
Check the imagine to see what I get on computer. Autoplay and play are grey out... not possible to select them..... just like transparent

For your info I'm not new on using computer.. I'm already using logic 9 with mainstage 2 and I'm electronic engineer as well... but I'm new on using reason so I don't know how to solve this problem

Is not giving me any preview also when I'm trying to import midi or wav

As Lem said, you are not going to get a preview for synth patches, or patches in general. From your picture, you are opening a NN19 patch, not sample. If you were to open the Solina folder with the individual samples, it should audition.

Do .rex loops audition ok? How about when trying to load a sample (not patch) into a NN19 or NNXT?

tell me a sampler from reason factory sound bank in which I should listen the preview audition in NN-19 sampler, and then I'll make a try and a printscreen...

Tell me a sample name and folder and I'll let you know...
