| Am I able to make so that I can just hold down one key and it plays a drum loop? So I can trigger the intro loop with 'c' then the verse loop with 'd' then chorus loop with 'e' etc...? Thanks, Herb. |

If you want to use multiple loops, you need to create multiple Dr.Rex devices. That's the right way. Quote:
The second one is done this way: Create as many dr.rex' as you need and load the desired loops into them. Now select the sequencer track for the first loop. Place the loop-start and loop-end locators so that they mark a range of 4 or 8 bars. Now press the "to track" button on the dr. rex. You should now have a new clip in your sequencer track. Now you can easily shift it around, cut it, duplicate it and so on. Do the same for the other loops. |

Thats the way I'm doing it right now. But what if I'm live, can't I just hold key down so the loop will play?

Hi, Try this: Load up your song with all of the drRex players and 'to track' all of the loops. Solo one of the tracks on the mixer Go to file and select 'export loop as audio file' You will now have a .wav file of your DrRex loop. Repeat this process for all of the DrRex loops that you have. Once you have all of the .wav loops, you can insert an NN-XT into the rack and load all of the .wav loops into it. All you have to do now is to assign each loop to its own key on the keyboard and set the play mode to repeat and then you can trigger all of the loops with different keys on your midi keyboard. That should sort out your problem. Hope it helps. Matt. www.reason4tutorial.com

I am not sure if this works (am at work without any midi keyboard): Right click on the "preview" button of the dr.rex and select "edit remote override". Now turn on "learn from midi" and hit a note key on your keyboard. I guess, this should enable you to turn on and off the loop via this key. |
