Default Need help with midi keyboard please!

ok so i have a mk-4902 midi controller, but something isn't right with the connection. The keyboard only has a midi out connection, so i connected that to my USB to midi cable, but the cable has an in and an out, so do I need some kind of adapter to properly connect this? The problem I'm having is no matter how i touch the keyboard REASON reacts as if I'm holding the key and not letting go, and i can only play one note at a time. So, do i need a different cable to connect the keyboard or is it a driver? Thanks for your time guys, I appreciate any feedback.

Do you have any other controller to plug in and try? Or, can you try your keyboard on another computer, maybe a friends? Or, do you have another sequencer program to plug into besides Reason? You have to try and isolate the problem. Go back, undo the keyboard from Reason and reinstall it. If that doesn't work, try different drivers. Do you have another cable to try? The hookup you described should work, midi out into usb to midi, and then usb to your computer.

However I just want to make it clear that this problem [B]is not[B] due to the fact that your keyboard only has a midi out port, since reason can't send any midi back to your keyboard and can only receive midi input. So the fact that you have no midi in cable plugged into your keyboard shouldn't really be causing the problem.

The first thing I would do, as joe suggested is reinstall the drivers for your usb to midi interface, if you can.

i've already tried reinstalling drivers and installed new drivers, no difference... i really don't understand, i had an old yamaha calvino keyboard that worked fine, but this one just doesn't cut it, i don't think its damaged or anything, something just isn't working properly, are there any other things i should change in reason, like in the preferences?

Well, if the other keyboard worked, then it's your mk-4902. The only other thing I can think of is to reset the keyboard. If you have a manual, it should tell you what to do. If you don't, then search for it on the net. I was having problems with a controller the other day. I reset it to default and it worked fine after that.
