Default Can you uts uts like me?

Here's one of my recent tracks, I'm still working on it, but enjoy a demo.

Let me just say after making many songs, you learn to edit combinators, delay's, the whole deal, you can do anything with the stock sound sets.

Thanks for listening

Default Your song seems to have been removed

Dear Arik.

Your track seems to have been removed, I clicked on the link and the site said the media wasn't there any more. And I was looking forwards to listening to it, too!

Do you know anything about using GAIN in Reason 3? I was having problems keeping the volume level up on soft sounds and someone told me I needed to use GAIN, which makes sense, I just hadn't thought of it! But I can't find any buttons labelled GAIN anywhere! I know that one of the compressors can do GAIN, but I don't necessarily want to compress sounds just to make them louder.

Is there any way of just bringing the volume level up on one sound without compressing it or distorting it to do so? I'm trying to make soft, gentle sounds more audible.

Yours in hope

Well, you caught a post from nearly a year ago. It's ok though, but thats why the link is dead, i will re-upload the track when my ftp is working, but you'd be wise to view my latest post. Much more put together http://www.reasonforum.com/reason/76...ason-song.html

As for bringing up volumes without distorting or overdriving, I find your best bet is a maximizer. Hook one of them up to your synth, Be very careful not to over drive it, When useing this I would also suggest a Peq-2 Two Band Parametric EQ. Again be careful using this, I try to take a sound a only have the frequency really needed in it showing, So if there is no low end in the 62hz range your wise to remove it at times, it can cause for extra noise and distorting when bringing up a volume.

Also when doing these things, look at your Main Mixer. The color lights aren't there for nothing. Next to the volume slider on the track, there is the color'd meter as I will call it. Use this to your advantage. When bringing up a sound adjust and maximizers, eq's, filter, ect. in such a way that you arent blipping the red. Keeping these down also help keep your sound in check and less distorted.
