Default Remapped Axiom pads with custom sounds and can no longer record!?! Please help.

To use the Axiom 25 pads in Reason 4 I had to remap using the 'Remote Override' function. Basically what I do is chop up for example kicks and snares in Recycle, import them into Redrum and play via pad. However when I want to record a sequence the pads that I play with the custom sounds I imported will not record. That said, the default bank sounds in Reason record fine. It's like when I remapped to use the trigger pads the sequencer no longer could hear it. Any ideas what went wrong or how to fix this?

Now let me get this straight. Here's a guy stating that the word "Reason" is misspelled and he makes SIX (yes, six) mistakes in ONE sentence. 1) A sentence always begins with a capital letter. 2) "I" as in I'd, should be capitalized. 3) There should be an apostrophe in the contraction "I'd." 4) "Reason" used here is a proper noun and therefore should be capitalized. 5) "Ya" is an abbreviation for a young adult and therefore not an abbreviation for the word "you." 6) A punctuation mark is required at the end of a sentence.

And that's your English lesson for today everyone. Tune in tomorrow and we'll learn how to un dangle a dangling participle.

Joe

These problems are pretty weird... they all hint that you're drivers aren't working right, this will sound annoying but try re-installing.

Actually, I downloaded malware on accident looking for audacity and had to re-do the entire machine. I was hoping the sound driver issue (I use my Mbox btw) would go away but it didn't. Everytime I fire up Reason I get a pop up saying something like 'there was a problem with your default sound card' and I have to simply go into preferences, deslect it, and select it again. Wierd.

Anyhow, why would drivers affect my custom sounds not being able to record in the sequencer. Do you think that when I remapped my Axiom the removed a link to the sequencer portion of the software or something?

sorry, i didn't understand your post properly. it wouldn't affect your custom sounds being able to record in the sequencer, yet it's almost definitely why you have to keep on re-selecting your sound card.

Yea, they're two separate issues. The main problem (why I posted here) was because I was copying kicks and snares I took from a beat loaded in recycle and assigned in nn-xt. When I play them it's fine, if I record, it shows up in the track as well. That said, when I remap the play button to play the kick and snare, etc. to use my axiom pads and I try to record... the audio doesn't show up as being recorded. Rather, just blank space.

Does that make better sense?
[EDIT] I found a post of another user having the same issue:
