Default Probably the millionth MIDI-keyboard issue thread

Hello.

Been using Reason 3 (in windows xp), with the virtual keyboard thing called Bome. Everything worked fine. So I decided to upgrade my newbieness to the next level and got this M-Audio keyboard (61 es). Nice, except I can't get it to control Reason. The manual says "no drivers necessary. The autodetect does nothing, and the Add button doesn't give me an M-audio 61 es option, nor can I get the "basic midi controler" option to function.

What am I not understanding?

no driver necessary? that's a bit odd...

have you tried m-audio tech support? it's probably something to do with them more than reason.

have you tried the "find" function? you press the find button and press a note or move a control on your keyboard and it finds it. give that a go and post back.

Seems like I had some problems too when I tried to hook up my M-Audio Oxygen 49. After some thought, I think you are right. It is class compliant, so you should just plug and play. But it wouldn't hurt to install the drivers. I think if you're going usb, there shouldn't be a problem. Anyway, here's a link to their latest drivers.
