Exclamation question!

hi!

i used reason for months with an m-audio midi keyboard without controllers, and it worked good everytime, without any problem, but yesterday i decided to substitute the m-audio with a new edirol pcr-300, just to have controllers.

but when i try to use the edirol with reason it seems that the hold button is on for every instrument i try to use.i tried to change preferences in every possible way but the problem persist, and using the keyboard with other softwares there are no problems like that.

please, help meeeee

ok, here's what you can try to do first, i know that there have definitely been issues with edirols and reason in the past, and i think it may be a vista problem. what operating system are you using? windows xp/vista and 32/64 bit? or a mac?

what you need to do is download one of these midi monitors, depending on what sort of os you have. it'll show you what midi signals you're receiving, to see if it's a problem with the edirol, or reason, or the drivers or what.

MAC ---> http://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/
PC ---> http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/MIDIMonitor/

if you are using vista, i reccomend to roll back to xp, or to at least dual-boot with it. i'm sorry to say this, especially if you've paid a lot of money to get vista on your computer, that it basically can't do anything operating systems before it can do, it is unstable, sluggish and is incompatible with a lot of hardware drivers. pretty much the only thing vista relies on to stay alive is the fact that most people who don't know tons about computers and that sort of thing automatically buy whatever huge companies like ms and the companies that they control tell them too. that and dx10, but most gamers who'd have the hardware installed to run games that support dx10 would know that there is a way of getting dx10 on computer running xp, and even then it's actually a lot better to use dx9!

back to the point, yeah, tell us what signal you're getting when you hit certain notes. copy and paste back the results or better yet, tae a screenshot, then we'll sort of have an idea of what to do.

goodluck.
