| I've heard that Reason 4.0 does not allow you to record anything into it (save midi, of course). For example, I couldn't record myself playing guitar and add it to a song. I'm assuming this means that if I did want to record something into it, I'd have to export the song to something like garageband and record it there, and not be able to edit the Reason part of it anymore... Is this true? It seems to me that you'd have to be able to record into it to some extent to use the vocoder at least... How true is this? Help me out plese. (And forgive me if I've said something stupid. I really don't know that much about DAWs.) |

You can use ReWire with reason and a lot of popular software so that they can interface and work together. I, for example, have used it with Adobe Audition. If what you want to create is obtained primarily through Mic's and Pickup's then Reason isn't going to be all that useful to you, if you want to use your computer as a musical instrument, less so as an 8track then reason is capable of some very powerful stuff - just not processing live sound. |

You can get a free program called Reaper that rewires with reason, and use that to record live inputs. Plus, I'm pretty sure there's a way to do that too using Rebirth.
