I've noticed that there is Vocoder device within reason but it obviously can't record audio - i'm rewiring through Garageband but can't figure out how or even if i can use the vocoder through this. How??

You can just use the vocoder with Reason internal audio sources, because there's no way to get audio from outside into Reason.

yeah just record the audio w/ garage band, route it through the vocoder in reason, and then back into garageband

That would be too much work for me. I'd take a VST-Vocoder. (search for free vocoder at kvraudio.com)
