Ableton Live/Logic, because it pretty much fills in for what Reason fails at.

| Could you elaborate on that a little bit!!!! And if i am correct Logic is for MAC users only right!!!!! I tried the demo of FL Studio 8, and i didnt like it one bit!!!! Do these other ones have a sound bank that comes with them also???? Are the sounds any better than they are with reason???

Like I said in the other thread, don't buy some super expensive DAW if you're satisfied with reason's capabilities. But if you want something to make up for what reason lacks, and that's generally considered it's mixing and sampling abilities then get a cheap DAW. If you didnt like FL studio, try reaper. http://www.reaper.fm Okay but if you are looking for something that comes with good sound content and robust features, then most people would say logic is a no-brainer. It comes with 49 gigs of content including gigs of loops. But the new logic is only available for the mac os. There's also the ableton live suite, different from the regular ableton live version) which is bundled with many instruments and is said to be very good. However it's regular price is $800 which seems a little overpriced to me, but maybe it's a good deal if you can get a student discount or something. Then there's protools, the "industry standard". You shouldn't really look into this DAW unless you plan to recording of artists or bands. And even then the LE version isn't that attractive. I personally think the LE/m-powered versions of protools shouldn't even be considered as an option for home studio owners, it requires hardware to run and has a limit on what amount of tracks you can use. There's also sonar 7. Some say sonar is a little cluttered and difficult to learn at first. I didn't have that much trouble learning the ins and outs. Personally I found it had some great plugs for mixing. And it even has some Le versions of virtual instruments made by Roland. There I went a little in-depth for this post, I hope you take my advice into consideration. |
