| My problem is that I want to record some guitar audio onto my computer and then put it into reason as a track to add effects to and also drums etc. This should be a simple task but i am having a lot of difficulty with it I remember once I used the NN-19 sampler thing to put some audio in but that meant holding a key down for the duration of the track. I have also looked into the import midi thing but am having no luck finding anything which will convert an mp3 / wav into a midi and am not even sure if that is possible. I think it may be a case of using the cubase program but if there are any other options that would be a lot more benifical. I hope you understand my question and am eagerly awaiting a solution to this problem.

You could use the nn-19 like you said. If you don't want to hold down a key, set the release time to max, or you could hold down the sustain pedal. But, really that's a poor mans way of doing it. You should use your DAW for that. Not sure about converting wav to midi, I'm sure I've tried it, but just can't remember. Now for converting wavs to mp3 and mp3 to wav, I use a free program called Music Match Jukebox. You can download it for free. I'm sure there's many others out there. If you get it, send me a pm or post back here and I'll tell you how to get the best results. Joe |
