Default Pedal, NN-XT

Hi

I'd like to set up my keyboard (micorkontrol) sustain pedal to trigger an nnxt effect, eg a kick drum. How do I make this happen?

Thanks

I really don't think that this can be done.

Hmmm.

This would be so useful, even if there was a third party app that could help me out.

Any ideas anyone?

Well, try it. Right click on a knob or fader. Select edit remote override mapping. Check the learn box and hit the pedal and see what happens.

Try this .rns file. You will need to do a remote override for your sustain pedal, just right click the first button on the combinator and press remote override, then make it use your sustain pedal. Everytime you press the pedal, the kick drum will sound.

Don't know if you can use CV values to modulate gate input on NNXT, never tried.

Just for fun I tried it and it did not register. Okay, okay next time I'll plug the sustain pedal in before I try it. Me an idiot.

OK, I'll try it tonight when I get home, thanks.

Just to check, by first button which do you mean?

Also if I want to do this with another NN-XT how do I set it up?

Cheers

The button 1 on the combinator, I think I labelled it as assign to pedal or something. Look at the routing, but basically what happens is a maelstrom lfo is hooked up to the cv gate input of the redrum. The lfo is set to one shot, and button one on the combinator is basically just turning the lfo on and off. Since it's set to one shot, it sends an on signal to gate input each time pedal is pressed.

Like I said, not totally sure if this works on nnxt, I don't think nnxt has any CV inputs for gate
