Default major latency issues in reason 3.0

Hi all, i have done a search on here and still to no avail, i am running a roland v-drum kit through my m-audio keystation pro 88 midi in to my keyboard from my drums then keyboard into my pc throuh usb. i didn't have this problem at all and then it just started. i've gone through the entire buffer size slider to no avail. i cannot find the sweet spot. i am running a quad core 4 gig of ram pc. this didn't start happening until recently and i have made no changes. i downloaded that asio4all and it doesn't work either, (unless i'm using it wrong) does anyone have any suggestions... i've fooled around with my buffer from my delta 66 sound card still to no avail. i am running out of options and getting really frusterated.. please help!!!

If you choose asio, you still have to adjust the buffer size from the control panel. edit>preferences>audio>asio>control panel (at the bottom). Set it as low as possible. You may have done that already.

Another thing, you can run straight to the pc from your Roland. I don't see why you need to run into your keyboard first. I've got a similar setup running the drum brain via midi out into the pc. I've got my keyboard set up via usb. This works fine for me.

Well, you really should go from drums to pc either midi or usb. Yes Hosa makes a midi to usb cable if that's what you need. Do a google on "midi to usb cables." Good luck.

always go for good brands, like yamaha. if it's below 10 bucks then it's usually taiwanese crapperware. ebay would probably be the best place to order, but if you could get something in a shop near you you wouldn't have to pay shipping costs.

Hosa cables are very reliable. I have friends who use them and I use them. Never had a problem. I think the cable he needs is around $30.00 or so.

didn't mean to imply hosa was inferior, and i wouldn't know how much they would cost as i haven't ever needed one.

Yeah, no problem. I know that you weren't bashing Hosa. But you are so correct about using quality cables and connectors. Actually I've never needed a midi to usb either, but I know that Hosa (and I'm sure others) makes 'em.
