Exclamation importing .wav files to reason?

hi guys,

i've been djing for a while just doin mixes and on the fly mashups. I've got reason 4.0 but haven't used it much at all just for bits and bobs, but i have now been asked to remix a track for a indie band into a electro style dance track . they have given me 8 files of .wav im just wondering how to import these into reason. if you know any pages where tutorials are available? also how can i electronify the drum files they have given me, and what instrument would i use to do this? also the melody, and i want to cut up the acapella so i can make a nice edit to stutter vocals? what would i need to do this. sorry for the post due to my inexperience of reason trying to learn importing this stuff.. i've seen stuff on midi files but i cant get them from the band..

any ideas or put me in the direction would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers

I really hate to be a negative nancy, but this is going to be an incredibly hard task to accomplish in Reason. Reason doesn't handle large waves very well, at all. You could use recycle to chop up the 8 waves, but I think you can only have up to 96(?) slices per rex which is going to REALLY limit you. Of course you could split everything down into smaller loops to do the work in recycle, but that would be a ginormous headache.

To do stuff like this you're really going to want to use an app like Live, Reaper or FLStudio, all of which handle large samples like total cake. Otherwise, you're gonna be loading up these tracks in NNXT or Redrum and you're going to have zero room to breathe, if you catch my drift.

Maybe someone else here has a better idea, something I've overlooked, but using Reason alone for this task is going to be an uphill battle as far as I can see sorry man

ahh ok thanx heaps, a mate has that so i might get a copy and see waht happens.. what does the tutorial have in it?? doing a remix like i've stated above.. guess i could always use reason to make my beat take it to live to incorporate and remix it in.. i guess, on the right track?

truth be told, although i love reason to death, ive always liked the method of writing the drums in ableton a bit better than reason.. plus youve got to take into account what the recording of the track you want to remix is like... like did they record to a click track? coz if they didnt then youll definetly need to write the drums into ableton.
