It adjusts, how strong the played notes affect the frequency of an oscillator or filter. In case of oscillators, it is normally turned to 100%, which means, that the oscillators will play the correct frequency according to all incoming notes. If you set it to 0%, the oscillators will always generate the same frequency. In case of a filter, you can adjust, if the cutoff frequency should raise with higher notes, or if it should always stay where you set it.
