Default making drum rolls

I was just wondering whats the easiest way to do this? Should i use nn xt and set up the same snare sound for multiple keys on the keyboard? is there a better way

Not sure what you're trying to do here, but there are many drum rolls in Reason. You could do it the way you mentioned, or you could use Redrum and set up different rolls in each lane. You could automate it, or you use the keyboard, or both.

If I was trying to make a drum roll... I'd just load up a generic snare sample in Redrum and click on every step, maybe turn up the resolution if that's what you want to do.

one way i go about doing this, if i'm not using sliced rex's is drawing, 2-3-4 consecutive notes (snares, or whatever you want to roll) and then change the velocities (vel->volume) so that the 1st and 3rd are about 40 (out of 127) and the 2nd and 4th about 80-100.

then apply small amounts of delay, for added groove.

but it all depends on what and how you want it to roll, as there are hundreds of ways to make a drum roll. the one i gave as an example is the first method i ever used, 7 years ago, whe i was starting out making drum and bass.
