Hi. I'm relatively new to Reason, and am trying to learn it the way I learn everything else, by taking pre-existing things apart, and trying to rebuild them.

I've been playing musical instruments long enough to be able to dissect drum parts, etc etc, but when it comes to making sounds, I'm a complete beginner. I decided on the song Sexy Love, partially cause I hear it all the time, but partially cause it is (musically) simple, if sonically elusive.

After settling on a kick and snare (which are 60% right, at best) from the stock Reason samples, I am totally stumped on this electronic synthy thing that is the primary chordal instrument in the song. And once (if) i do figure it out, I have no idea how to make it stagger/fade/swell the way it is.

Any idea?

Be careful. You will want to skip to about 2 minutes in (1:38, at least), because it's a remix and they decided to mix in a bunch of garbage in the first minute thirty eight.
