Hi just started to play with Reason (Adapted for Pro Tools). I'm now looking for a MIDI controller that works well with the program; I've read that some controllers are a pain in the ass to program and that others take 2 seconds. I've heard great things about the Akai MPK79, but it is a bit too expensive ($399). How much should I expect to spend on a controller that isn't an utter piece of crap? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am using pro tools m powered 7.3 with Reason 3.........I am having no problems with my oxygen8 25 key midi controller. It was around 60 dollars and is a great controller!!!

I second the m-audio units, I had to trick Reason into understanding that I have a Oxygen 8v2 but it's not a huge deal. The Oxygen 61 works like a dream
