Exclamation keyboard issue

my keyboard doesn't want to add to reason 4.0 cause i reformatted my computer and reinstalled everything so now i am confused because where it says Midi Input when your adding the keyboard my PC doesn't have any and i have no idea what to do??/

Make sure that your drivers are installed and that Windows/Mac whatever recognizes the device.

Once you are sure your OS recognizes it, you have to configure it through the midi preferences section in Reason. If it's a popular device, it will likely have a preset already there, if not, just pick generic controller and select the input (USB, midi interface etc).

hey i tried to do exactly as you told me but i have no idea whats wrong when i install the driver for the keyboard it doesn't show me any midi input i tried to use midi yoke or maple to see if i can get it to work but no luck

Do you mean, keyboard as in keyboard controller or literally your keyboard?

I know there's ways of configuring the keyboard as a midi controller (ie as in FLStudio), but I have no idea how this is done. Many guys here do though.

If it's just a regular ol controller (m-audio, edirol etc etc) you just have to make sure your operating system recognizes it first, don't even worry about Reason till the OS can detect it because if the OS can't, Reason certainly can't.

Wish I could be of more help but when it comes to hardware, it either works or doesn't lol it's not usually cryptic.

Sometimes you have to try different drivers until you find some that work. I've had similar problems.

i have the m audio oxygen 8 do you know what drivers that can work with it cause i downloaded the one from there website but it doesn't work or am doing something wrong??
