| Reason got an option called: Self-contain Settings. Basically a feature where you can save your sounds in the .rfl file right? Now, when you're in this option you have to click the files you want to save in the .rfl file. But all my files are locked! Even reason soundbackfiles and regular .wav files (kicks/snares etc.) are locked. Is there a way to unlock them ? Thanks in advance |

If your files or sounds are in the default reason refills then there is no reason to check them anyway as all reason users including the ones opening your self contain rns file will have those refills anyway. But here's the problem with self contain files, you cant self contain any patch or sound that's located within any refill (at least I'm not aware of any bypass to this) so you'll still have to make sure whoever you send the rns file to has the same refills you do. I'm pretty sure they did this to ensure that patches and samples are not pirated along with the self contained rns files they sent with. However I believe there is a refill unpacker (pretty sure its illegal though, so I will not link to it) that can extract all the patches and samples in a refill, so if you would extract them then use them in your reason session, then self contain them I guess you could then share patches and samples that were once in a refill. That's one workaround that might work. By the way, hope all this makes sense to you lol. |

It does make sense, thanks. What doesn't make sense, is a friend of mine saying he doesn't have a problem with it. We sometimes work together on a project, and he will just send me the. rfl (saved with Self-Contain settings) and his synths or whatever are there, even though I don't have the refill. |
