| 1. Do I need to be using a USB soundcard for the drivers to work? 2. Will this interfere with the drivers digidesign provides me for protools? 3. Is this something that would benefit latency in other programs (kontakt etc?) Is this neccesary for me given my setup? I just don't really understand, and could use an explanation from a user instead of a websites FAQ, yno? Here's my system. MBP 2.2 Ghz Santa Rosa chipset 2 Gig Ram Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.3 Reason 4.0.1 M-Audio Oxygen 61-key thanks. |

Basically the asio drivers help reduce latency, if you don't have a latency problem, you don't need it. There is no usb device need to install and use the asio drivers and I doubt it'd interfere with your digidesign drivers, but I dont know if you can use asio drivers with protools. When I using kontakt stand alone the asio drivers helped out me, but I was using a built in dell soundcard. http://www.asio4all.com Hope that helped. |

ahh yes. I also have latency with Kontakt when using built-in sound. The million dollar question though is do they make them for OS X (looks like not)? and is there a driver to be used with OS X somewhere out there? |

I'm afraid not... well not for ASIO4ALL, there might be another ASIO program specifically for Macs. It would be a good project... but I know nothing about osx.
