Post How Do I Change Refill Names?

I downloaded some free refills, and I wanted to rename them so that I can know at a glance what they are. I tried renaming them in finder (in the Reason folder where I keep them) but when I opened reason it was still reading them as the old names. I also tried deleting the preference files. It seems the name is somehow embedded? I'm not sure.

Thanks.

-Mike

I think you'd need the reason refill packer, it's on thepiratebay somewhere.

Ah. It looks like this is windows only thing?

I'm on a mac. Any reason why it won't recognize my new file names edited in finder? any other workaround?

I can tell you that the name of the refill is definitely embedded inside of the refill itself, there is a text document that sets the parameters for the refill. Why it's not showing the changed filename, though, is beyond me and sounds pretty strange

Well is there a way to get inside refill patches on a mac? As said before the refill packer SEEMS to be PC only. Maybe I'm wrong.

This is why it's handy to have something like vmware on your mac osx.

Yeah I do , but seriously it's very good to have just incase you need to run something only windows can. You can even save the state of windows and resume from the same point later on, also the "unite" feature is just plain cool.

You can run a lot of Windows programs on Linux now, including Steam games (pretty impressive!) using Crossover, Wine or Cedega, but I'm sure there'd be something for Mac software. But Linux still has a long way to go before it's fully able to work with Reason, ASIO or anything.

Ubuntu looks so tempting

Currently I'm running Leopard (with Vmware) and XP Pro, but I was thinking about attempting a triple boot and installing ubuntu also.

Linux can run steam games? Wow my vmware cant really do that, as the virtual machine isn't fast enough for that sort of thing. Titan when you're on your msn maybe I'll ask you a couple of questions about linux because I really want to try it out.
