Exclamation Problem with USB-MIDI Adapter

Hello I am having some problems trying to get Reason 4 to recognize my keyboard. I bought a generic no-name USB-MIDI adapter on eBay. When I connect it to the PC it installed some drivers and now I can see a "USB Audio Device" in device manager.

I connected the keybord using the MIDI jacks in the back and when I press keys a little green LED labled "IN" flashes, so it seems fine. The problem is when I try to add it in Reason.

The "Auto-detect Surfaces" in preferences does not detect anything. So I tried to add it manually. The keyboard is made by CASIO so its not listed, therefore I selected "Other" for manufacturer, but under 'MIDI Input' my only choice is 'Not selected'. The USB Audio Device does not appear in the list.

Am I doing something wrong? Or perhaps Reason does not support the USB-MIDI cable. Does anyone have any suggestions?? Thanks.

Try this:

Load Reason, Edit > Preferences > Keyboards and Control Surfaces > Add

Choose Other because it'll be picking up signals from the converter as opposed to the casio, i'm guessing. Click on MIDI INPUT: > FIND < and then press a note on the keyboard. It should detect it, if not, you'll need to get drivers for the converter.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply, I found the solution. I had a look in some other forums and it turns out that my issue was with my Logitech webcam. Once I un-installed the the Logitech Drivers & Software, Reason could detect the USB Audio Device and it was listed under "MIDI Input".

Now I can use my keyboard with Reason. But I do have another question, it seems like the volume for notes that I enter with the keyboard is low. The volume bar is about half way between 0 and 127, I have to go back using the PENCIL tool and increase these values manually.

Is there any way to increase the volume of the notes entered with a MIDI keyboard? Thanks.
