Raising the volume of individual sounds in Reason 3
Dear Anyone.
For ages, I've been looking for a way to raise the volume level of soft sounds without distorting them. Recently, I've been told to use GAIN on the soft sounds, which is a great idea and something I should have thought of (spot the brain cell!)
I'm not good with music software progs in general, I know this, so this will prob. sound very dumbass. But I can't find anything called GAIN anywhere! Apart from on the small compressor, which the Help file says is to REDUCE sound levels. I want to INCREASE them!! And I don't necessarily want to compress the life out of a sound.
Is there any way of raising the volume level of a sound without having to compress/distort it? So when you've got a sound lovely and soft (I'm a New Age composer, or want to be) you can just bring the volume level up WITHOUT having to use more compression, or velocity, or anything like that? Just turn up the volume on the soft sounds? (I presume that's what GAIN would do, if I could find it!)
Yours hopefully
