My personal touch on this would be making small sections of the song first. Chop it up into 16 beats (which eventually results into 4 bars in the reason sequencer).

It may be some work to do this since you constantly need to keep track on the part you last have been cutting out. That's kind of the annoying part

But when done, you are able to pinpoint the problem parts more easier. Since, if there is one 16 beat phrase going out of sync, you only need to focus on that part to fix it (using for instance recycle).

I am not aware of how it would sound like in the final process since I have no clue which song it is. But technically, country is known for its strange tempo changes and weird signatures. So it is probably not going to be easy.
