Default Song Im sampling keeps changing tempo

Hi guys hope you are all well today

The problem I am having is one I never would have thought of.

I am making a remix of a song I like. The wav I am sampling is a sort of country western song I suppose and its about 170 bpm. Something Ive noticed though is that ever so slightly it changes speed throughout the song, perhaps from 170 to 168 on some bars then back to 170 down to 167 etc. This is definately not done on purpose as it occurs randomly (not on chorus or verse starts etc). This makes it very difficult to record a drum beat for it or anything else for that matter as it always goes out of time.

I recorded it onto another audio track and disabled stretch and then put the bpm upto 170 to see if this works but, after doing it I realised this wouldnt work and of course it didnt, the song was still faster and slower in different places. I dont want to use the whole song Im gonna chop it up a bit but I will be using a substantial part of it. Am I best to chop it up first and do something to the clips???

I have tried different methods in audacity, recycle and record but to be honest Ive no clue really and am just guessing and my guessing seems to be quite off point

Has anyone else experienced something similar and what did you do to fix it.......?

Cheers
